16. James Thomas BURKLOW was born on JAN 8 1881 in Pinckneyville, Livingston County, Kentucky. He died on MAY 16 1959 in Somerset, KY, USA. He was Employment-Vocation 1923 - 1940 (appx) in Fleming, KY, USA. employed with the Elkhorn Coal Corporation as a carpenter and painter He was married to Ms. Maggie May YOUNG Date not know.

ii. Mr. Ernest Larue BURKLOW was born on OCT 10 1907 in Marion, Kentucky (near). He was General Background Information between 1923 and 1993. The notes in the program at his funeral read as follows:

"His early years were spent near Marion, Ky. and at an early age he became a member of the Marion Baptist Church. Around 1923 the family moved to Fleming, Ky. where his father (James Thomas) was employed with the Elkhorn Coal Corporation as a carpenter and painter. Ernest graduated from McRoberts High School and was later employed in the auditing department of Elkhorn Coal Corporation. He married Mabel Blair of Whitesburg in 1935; Dr. Josef Nordenhaug of the Irene Cole Baptist Church, Prestonsburg, officiating.

In 1952 Ernest joined the Garnett Insurance Agency of Hazard. He and his family continued to live in Hazard since that time. In 1965 he held to organize the Burklow Insurance Agency which later purchased the Garnett Agency. In 1976 he suffered a stroke which forced his retirement.

Ernest was a member of and taught men's Sunday school classes at both the Fleming Baptist Church and the First Baptist Church of Hazard. In addition, he pursued his interest in creative art work (drawing and painting), and in playing the violin throughout all but the last few years of his life."

He is buried at the Sandlick Cemetery in Whitesburg, Ky.

They have three children; Sammy, Marsha and Gerald and four grandchildren: Scott, Jennifer, Jonathan and Timothy.

He died on NOV 26 1993 in Whitesburg, Kentucky. He was buried November 29, 1993 (appx) in Sandlick Cemetery, Whitesburg, Kentucky.
