It is my opinion people should be given credit for their efforts, however minor to an ongoing project as large as this. "Cousins" have been passing bits and pieces of data and materials to me during the past 32 years. Many of them had spent years receiving and exchanging data with others previous to me and so were not necessarily the original researcher.
We're all beneficiaries of other people's research in this endeavor. The point is that we should acknowledge those who freely shared their work with us, a gesture which saved us time, travel and cost, while enabling us to either make necessary ancestral connections or get that much closer to it.
Some of my best correspondents are now deceased, while others have not been heard from in a decade or two. Their contribution was nonetheless appreciated even if their research and sources are now widely available at one of the major online genealogical websites.
That said, not everyone may want their name listed here for various personal reasons, only one of which is privacy. Because of that issue, I may have to poll many of my correspondents to determine if they wish to be left off, listed, or listed with an active link.
This list, therefor, will not contain e-mail addresses to begin with, only the researcher and their specific Van Borculo branch. That way, visitors to the site can ask me about someone researching the same line and negotiate a connection, if possible. I would expect that to sound fair enough.
I would also expect those of my correspondents who frequent the Message Boards and freely exchange their names and email addresses will not mind being listed(without email addresses) for the purpose of identifying their specific branch and interest. After all, the primary objectives of this website are: (1)dissemination of early Van Borculo data and (2)providing a vehicle for connecting with someone more closely related to you than me.
Understandably, their direct descendancy listing here would end with an early line branching from a female.
It represents no particular order of contribution.
